BAIJI REFINERY REHABILITATION WORKS PROJECT

Baiji Refinery, the biggest refinery in Iraq, near the city of Baiji, has stopped operation since 2014, with major damages due to the bombings and explosions, fires and collapses.

This put the petrochemical plant into a state of desertion and decay, but in 2021 North Refinery Company (NRC) as Owner/ Client of the refinery has initiated ‘’ Baiji North Refinery Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Project ‘’ in order to put back the refinery back into operation and called out for specialists in this field.

Along with a total of more than 300 people, HICC Team undertook the task for assessment of the current condition of the Plant, with diagnosis on how to perform the repairs, replacements, renewals to restore the Plant to its original condition in this major task.

Ongoing works involves performance of necessary inspections and analyses that determine the current condition as well as the requirements of the refinery to perform a smooth transition with most feasible period for refurbishment of the refinery; targeted to enable a Safe and Quality back into operation of the North Refinery for Client.

HICC has vast experience in these refinery units and its repair and refurbishment, and has performed similar projects in Albania and Azerbaijan. Teams consist of specialists; experienced in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry, who has completed numerous refinery projects in Azerbaijan, Albania, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Qatar, Russia and the former CIS Countries.

HICC involvement is also in the later stages of this major overhaul, reconstruction project on a EPC basis; Engineering, Procurement & Construction, as well as commissioning and related operations.
